Sam Curran MBE

Sam Curran currently plays for Surrey CCC and is a regular in the England International Cricket team after impressing in his International Test debut in 2018 against India, taking 11 wickets and scoring 272 runs, earning him the award of the Player of the Series.

Sam has taken his talents abroad, starting with Kings XI Punjab in the 2019 IPL, where he became the youngest player to claim a hattrick in IPL history. In 2020, Sam became the most expensive English player in the IPL draft, signing for Chennai Super Kings and later voted MVP with his impressive tally of 186 runs and taking 13 wickets, earning praise from captain MS Dhoni who referred to him as "the complete player". In 2021, Sam scored an unbeaten 95* against India, – the highest score by a no. 8 in ODI cricket history.

Sam was voted 2019 Wisden Cricketer of The Year and was a nominee for the 2018 BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year Award.
