Tom Lawes is regarded as one of the brightest young talents in English county cricket. A right-arm fast-medium bowler and lower-order batter for Surrey, he is known for his maturity, control, and ability to swing the ball.

Since debuting in 2021, Tom has become a mainstay in Surrey’s attack, taking 89 first-class wickets with best figures 5/22, and was key to their 2022 County Championship win. Surrey’s Alec Stewart says, “Tom trains like he plays – full commitment, full focus. He’s got all the ingredients to go a long way in this game.”

Tom continued to rise in 2023, taking 39 wickets at an average of below 20, including his maiden First-Class five-for, also earning a call up to England Lions. Picking up a crucial four wicket haul in a crunch match versus Essex, Tom helped Surrey complete a historic three-peat of County Championships. The talented allrounder spent the winter of 2024 again with the Lions.

Tom was selected by the Oval Invincibles for the 2023 season of The Hundred as an injury replacement and spent 2024 and 2025 with Northern Superchargers ahead of being called up to The England Lions Tour of Australia.
